Doug Root is the Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Blackfin Real Estate Investors and Iron Fish Construction. Since starting Blackfin in 2016 their team has acquired over 14,000 multifamily units. 

Currently their portfolio consists of 11,000+ units and an acquisition value over $2 Billion.

In 2017 along with fellow Co-Founder Andy Buchanan the pair started Iron Fish Construction, a full service general contracting business focused on servicing the renovation needs of multi-family properties throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Carolinas. 

Doug shares his entrepreneurial journey starting with professional tennis, then his early real estate career with Invesco and Greystar, and lastly the formation of Blackfin with Andy.
